What is Back to Basics?
Back to Basics is a self-paced CRNA CE course designed to help practicing CRNAs refresh core anesthesia concepts relevant to MAC Check preparation using a focused, choose-your-path learning format. It provides 70 Class A credits which meets the minimum 60-credit requirement.
How is Back to Basics different from CRNA Updates?
CRNA Updates focuses on annual updates and emerging topics, while Back to Basics is designed to reinforce foundational anesthesia concepts. Back to Basics allows you to identify knowledge gaps, review high-yield material, and dive deeper when needed.
Does Back to Basics include the CPC Core Modules?
No. Back to Basics and CPC Core Modules are two separate courses with different learning objectives.
You can sign up for each separately or get both courses (with a discount) in our All-Inclusive Bundle, which includes everything you need for your entire 4-year CPC Program.
Will APEX report my credits to the AANA?
We report credits for active AANA members on normal business days Monday – Friday.
If you’re not an AANA member, you can print your credit transcript to submit to the NBCRNA.
How long will I have access to Back to Basics?
You’ll have up to 2 years from your purchase date to complete the course and earn your Class A CRNA CE credits.
What’s the difference between CE and CEUs for CRNAs?
While CEUs is a term commonly used when searching for continuing education, the AANA officially refers to credits as continuing education (CE) credits, not CEUs. APEX’s CRNA courses provide AANA-approved continuing education credits, including Class A credits (also referred to as Mac Ed credits), in accordance with AANA guidelines.
Can I renew or extend access to a CRNA course?
We understand that sometimes life gets in the way. If you need extra time to earn your credits, contact us, and we’ll gladly extend your course access.
If you’d like to enroll in a course that you used previously (to earn credits again), email us at info@apexanesthesia.com so we can re-enroll you into a course.
What are the software and hardware requirements to use APEX?
You can access APEX from your computer, tablet, and smartphone. You can start on one device and pick up where you left off on another device.
