Chuck Biddle, PhD, CRNA

Lead Presenter · Epidemiology

Chuck Biddle didn't just read the research on anesthesia workstation contamination. He produced part of it. His randomized controlled trial tracking surrogate pathogenic material through the anesthesia workstation (American Journal of Infection Control, 2016) appears in this session's reference list, alongside his work on reducing anesthesia machine contamination and moderating nosocomial infection risk during anesthesia. He holds a PhD in epidemiology from the University of Missouri and and served as Editor-in-Chief of the AANA Journal for over 3 decades. He has nearly 200 first-author publications in peer-reviewed journals and is the sole author of Evidence Trumps Belief: Evidence-Based Practice in Nurse Anesthesia. He is Professor Emeritus at Virginia Commonwealth University, a U.S. Navy Medical Corpsman veteran, and a Content Creator and Editor for APEX Anesthesia.
